WRAPUP

WRAPUP is an end-of-year recap of Ghanaian music videos that made it to the weekly TOP 5 Countdown chart on 3RD TV. The calendar for the chart starts on the first Friday in January to the last Friday in November. Official release date for WRAPUP is second week (Friday) in December every year.

Annually, we WRAPUP 240 official Music Videos that made it through the chart’s 48 weeks in the previous year. These numbers could be interpreted as; 5 videos per week, 20 videos in 4 weeks (a month), 60 videos in 12 weeks (1 season) and a total of 240 videos in 48 weeks.

The word “TOP” is self-explanatory, the chart is about the “TOP Artistes”, who are known as the heavy hitters, the “big boys and girls” with the “TOP songs” making waves across the country. We feature New Comers with smash hits too.

• Why 5 Artistes and not 10 Artistes?

The 5 fingers inspired the number of Artistes featured on the Chart because the fingers are not equal. The smaller the size, the better we are able to track them.

• How do you arrange the Music Videos on the chart?

The chart is based on YouTube views! We put all music videos released within the first week on our SELECTION TABLE, we track the number of views each video generated within the second week, The videos with most views automatically peaks on the TOP 5 chart on Friday. Counting upwards (from number 5 to 1).

• Why wasn't my video part of WRAPUP?

TOP 5 don’t WRAPUP random music videos, all the videos went through the TOP 5 countdown chart, hence making a count in the annual WRAPUP

• Most of my works as a Director / Producer were not on the WRAPUP

It simply means, those projects didn’t make it to any of the 48 episodes on the charts during the year.

• How can I be part of WRAPUP as an upcoming Artiste?

The only way to get featured is to premiere your brand-new music videos on our channel. After the promotion of the video, you are eligible to rub shoulders with the big boys on the charts.

• How can I become a Nominee at the Awards?

The data from the TOP 5 Countdown is used for WRAPUP, whilst the data from WRAPUP is used to organize the annual 3RD TV Music Video Awards the following year, so it’s a big deal to start from TOP 5 Countdown.
